The need to create and express myself just comes from my soul. It calls to me. It speaks to me. I see it everywhere I look. It takes me on a new journey every time I step into a new piece. I think creativity is the purpose of and expression of life itself.” Laci was one of the first artists featured at Queer Art at the Lucky Dog Tavern. Her art depicts color and life in a very creative manner. While her favorite medium to use is oil paint, she doesn’t restrict herself to it. “It is more versatile than any other paint.” She said. “I enjoy almost every other medium other than water color and digital mediums. Recently I’ve enjoyed chalk pastels and the art of gardening too.” McCrea also spoke of what challenges her the most, when it comes to her art. “The most challenging pieces are typically the commissions I’m not super excited about doing, and they usually turn out horrible. As for my own art that I chose to do, I think “Dance of Pride”(pictured , left) was the most challenging because there was so much variation in color and it was large. In the end it became one of the most satisfying pieces.”
