records together. I gained a bass player by meeting him at Honkytonk Tuesday, and I asked him to be in our band but he originally declined because he was in too many bands. So Jer talked to him and got him to listen to the music, and he agreed.

We couldn’t afford a three piece travelling band, but now we can afford it. We also just added a fourth player that was also from Honkytonk Tuesday. We’ve been playing with Noah Gundersen as a two piece (Jer and I).

Q3: Your music really has a different feel to it. There’s some punk elements, some rockabilly, and folk. What were some of your inspirations growing up and how did you come into your own as a musician?

A3: I love listening to a bunch of different styles of music. I’ve never wanted to be labeled as one style of artist. There’s so many different things that come into my music like Folk and Americano, but I don’t consider myself anything other than a musician. As soon as you start to label it you start to lose it for what it is. I can see myself delving into punk music, because they incorporated so many other types of music.

like to go off the beaten path. When I discover a new band I play it so much. At the same time I

love a lot of pop music. The perfect balance is to be listening to a lot of new stuff, and to be combining styles that you find. I’ll always be combining new styles and pushing the envelope.

Jazz and blues and punk all mixed together are so unique and never get tiring because there are so many different sounds.

Q4: What does the future hold after this tour for Caroline Rose?

A4: Leads to more touring. We are touring the rest of the year and I’m trying to polish off some songs to release a new EP so that I can my new stuff out. I Will Not Be Afraid showcased a lot of my older stuff that I wanted to get out, but the new stuff I’m coming out with won’t sound the same. The sound is gonna change very drastically throughout my career. And then, we’ll just tour more. I’d love to be headlining every show forever.
