Technology nowadays plays an extremely important role in our daily lives. At least 80% of the world`s population have seen their lives changed and affected by modern technology, and it is because of this involvement with technology that many people believe that a single world culture is being created.

Around the world there are many different cultures, each one of them special in its own way. In the present day, it is very normal that people from different countries know a lot about the cultures in others. The main reason for this is the great development there has been in technology. From communication, using social networks on our computers and cell phones, to information webs such as Wikipedia, or to sophisticated air planes that travel for long hours all at once; Technology has been probably the key. We are living in a globalized world. All this different cultures mixed have definitely created what is in progress of becoming a single world culture.Although technology has proven to be of extreme importance in the matter, we must not forget that it does not mean everything. Before we had such fine and advanced artifacts, our ancestors used to transmit their cultures and memories through talking or writing on walls, on the ground, and later, on paper. That has not been completely lost. Books are still very popular, and the stories our grandparents told us are also ways of learning about other cultures or the past

Modern technology is creating a single world culture

If we want to transmit it, we don’t necessarily have to tweet, text or post it on Facebook, we can meet up with our friends and share this information and possibly learn from them too. In this way, both the technological and the non-technological world are mixed.

All in all, I must say I agree with the given statement. I grew up in an era where technology grew at a very fast rate, and every day I feel and see how it helps us communicate and learn. However, technology hasn’t been the only thing that has helped; we humans have done our fair share too.
