Nowadays technology places a very important role in daily lives . and every day more and more software programs are created. Some of these may be used in schools as tools that help the teachers to teach their students but do these tools really help?
On the one hand , with the use of Internet, students are able to obtain varied information from educational websites. Dates, events can be found in seconds instead of going through hours and hours of endless search. There are many interactive programs that capture attention , making it easier for the teacher to get little kids to may attention and learn. Teachers can use many programs such as google earth or dinamic presentation as, for example, Prezi.
Nevertheless, sometimes this is not so good. For instance, if there is no Internet connection , you can practically do nothing and these things happen. If you run out of battery, you are in trouble, whereas a book or a folder will always be next to you.
Besides, students are always in touch with tchnology and this is not healthy. When they get home, they use the computer or on their free time, they dash for their cellphones. So when they use computers at school, they find them tiring,
To sum up , I think that it is useful to have technology as a tool for the teacher or university professor but I think we must still reach out for books
