Another year has come and gone. It is time to redefine what it means to be a courageous, compassionate & CONFIDENT woman that will respectfully represent their SL-Greek Organization. This year 12 Greek contestants, from 12 different SL-sororities competed for the crown of 2014 Miss Greek. The pageant emphasized all attributes that contribute to today’s successful sl-soror – mind, body and spirit.

The Miss Greek SL pageant was created by Kandee E. Gotti for the sole purpose of having a friendly competition amongst the Greek affiliated women of SL. Throughout the years the pageant has garnered the support of the some of the most prominent business owners and designers on the grid. The pageant has emerged from a simple competition to fostering bonds and ties amongst women from different organizations, ages and cultures. Leading up to the crowning on July 19th, contestants participated in a series of preliminary competitions and judged in 5 different categories and from that Amira Tiratzo of CHI Gamma P S I - SL Sorority Inc was crowned the 2014 winner of Miss Greek. Alongside her is Smile Tzal-Christenson of Nu Gamma Rho in 2nd place and Bomshaellor Acostais of Beta Mu Epsilon in 3rd place.

As the ladies basked in the spotlight Bombshaellor was asked to complete the question, “Being part of this pageant to me means…” and she replied, “Being part of this pageant was an amazing and eye opening experience. This was one of the few times when working with a group of ladies was very pleasant. There was nothing but positivity and well wishes. I feel like I made new friends and it was a great way to not only represent my sorority but the Greek community in general.”

In this issue OurVoice focuses on the achievements of women both in real life and our virtual world of SecondLife and thought it would be an great contribution to touch base with the new 2014 Miss Greek herself as she completes a photo shoot with designs provided by Romance Couture, Tres Beau and Wayne. OurVoice takes a peek into Amira's feelings and experiences during the course of the competition.
