The Horse’s Revenge Angela-Class 94 A very long time ago horses lived freely all over the world. One of these horses used to eat every day on the wide grassland. No other animal used the grassland and the horse felt that it belonged completely to him. Then one day a deer came jumping over the hedge. He trampled carelessly all over the field, leaving deep footprints. The horse was very angry. He couldn’t think of a way to get back at the deer himself, so he asked the man who owned the field to help him. “Of course I will help you,” said the man. “If you let me put this bridle in your mouth and let me sit up there on your back, I will get my bow and take him away from you.” The horse agreed and the man mounted on his back. After the man sent away the deer, the man took the horse into his yard and set him to work. Ever since that time, horses have obeyed men and worked as his slaves. Revenge is righteous; it may hurt you as well as your enemy. White Hair, How to Grow Up? Susan-Class 156 One day, a machine was broken. So the company’s boss called a person to fix it up. “叮零零...” “This is Mr. Black.” “This is Tom.” A child? The boss asked, “Can you pass the call to your father?” “No, I can’t. He is busy.” The boy answered. The boss thought that the boy shouldn’t be alone. So he continued, “Is anyone else with you? Your mother?” “No, she also is busy. But there are many police officers who are talking with my parents.” “Police?” The boss sounded very rushed. Why were there policemen? “Hurry up!” He heard a noise that sounded like an airplane. He couldn’t wait to ask, “What’s that?” “A plane.” “What happened?” “Many houses were burned down in a fire. And there are many firefighters and searchers,” the boy answered. “Whom are they searching for?” “They are looking for me!”
