I am Always Here, Waiting Behind Your Back
Mandy-Class 169
I love you. You don’t know.
I am always singing “I am always here behind your back. I am always here, waiting
behind your back. Waiting for you to turn around and to look at me.” I sing with a small
voice. But I sing every day and I have sung for a month. You really don’t hear me?
Whenever you reach out your hands and knead my hairs, I will be angry. Later, I will
laugh at you. I hate playing with the other boys, but I run after you in the classroom.
You always rob me of my books. Then you write and draw on it in disorder. When
you saw the things that you wrote and drew on my history book long ago, you are surprised
and say to me, “Why don’t you wipe it off?” I replied, “I have no time.” But I want to save
your stamp and keep it as a memory.
You never know that I’m hiding my feelings.
You don’t know that I love you.
Your arms are long. When I’m not paying attention, I put my shoelaces quietly by
you. I pretend that I don’t know what I’m doing. But I look at your straight and upright
body. As you put your hands
behind your back, you tie the
shoelaces to the foot of the
desk. After you succeed, you
laugh stealthily. I find you cute
when you get into mischief.
After the P.E. class, I buy
a bottle of mineral spring water
and come back to the
classroom. I drink a little and
put it on the desk. You don’t
come back until the next class
starts. Your sweat flows. You
say, “Your water is mine.” You
drink it before I nod my head.
But I laugh because I think this
is an indirect kiss.

like this. We don’t go further. I am always behind your back. I see you in love
and part company. I really hope we can always be best friends, forever and ever.
