Shortly after the May fundraiser, Our House asked Kim to serve as the Chair
of the auction sub-committee for our 5th annual Tie One On fundraising
event. Her responsibilities were to organize auction item needs, manage a
small sub-committee of volunteers, and solicit donation items. Her participation has reached far beyond what she was asked to do. She designed a tracking
system to monitor donations and reached out to the other sub-committee
Chairs to track their progress as well. Kim has spent countless hours soliciting
items for exciting packages such as a Disney World vacation for four and a
Razorbacks basket that includes an autographed football, tickets, and
tailgating parties. Kim has been essential to the organization of this event and
has come up with incredible packages for auction.
During her participation with Tie One On, Kim did not limit her contact with
Our House to just helping with the event. When all of the committee members
were invited to join board member and fellow sub-committee chair Jan Alman
to serve dinner at Our House, Kim and her husband jumped at the opportunity.
This was one of the first times that Kim was on campus when all of our residents
were home. She noticed that “they looked happy, took care of themselves
properly, and were very respectful and appreciative.” Kim has served at soup
