been built. Everyone was there celebrating. What did we see?
Our board and staff described the scene:
A building that was light and open; children and parents bubbling with excitement, exploring every room; homeless families
overwhelmed by the love that the community had shown their
children by building them this center. Donors who were so
impressed that they asked, “can my own children come here?”
Everyone together celebrating something beautiful and hopeful,
an investment in the most vulnerable children in our community.
In place of a run-down building with busted windows and trees
growing on top would stand a brightly-lit Children’s Center. It
would be the largest investment in the South End Community
in over a decade. And it would be a gift to the homeless and
near-homeless children who so many in the world do not even
know exist.
