The infant classroom, named for Charlotte Trahin Bogard,
celebrates the life of a woman who cared for people and animals.
She would stop for a turtle crossing in the road or give to strangers
in need without hesitation. The Charlotte’s Web Infant Classroom
is a place where 12 little babies are loved and cared for every day.
The name of our kitchen was an 80th birthday present to Tad
Philips, who through Habitat for Humanity builds houses for
people who are homeless, and who has cooked and served meals
for the residents of Our House for decades. His daughter, granddaughter, family, and friends all gave in his honor to celebrate
his 80 wonderful, impactful years on this earth so far.
A Wellness Center is named for Baby Julia, who did not live
to her first birthday. It is a space where sick children receive
comfort and care.
Below: On the day the furniture is delivered, Janet sees the finished infant room
for the first time. All she can say is, “this is all mine?!” The new room holds enough
cribs & high chairs for 12 babies, with plenty of space to learn to crawl & walk.
