Eighty-four-year-olds Marlene Norris and Dorothy Ryan of Danville were among the approximately 40 senior citizens who brought home with them free fresh produce from a Garden Share program in July in Danville .
Ryan was looking forward to making a fresh salad to enjoy with the cucumbers and other brightly-colored fruits and vegetables .
Norris said the produce “ straight from the garden ” looked wonderful .
They both showed off their items they collected . They were looking forward to getting even more as the summer progressed .
