EDUCATIONAL
DREAMS
The Edna P. McCurdy Scholarship Foundation is funded by the Ounalashka
Corporation. The Foundation provides funding for tuition, books, housing and
other expenses to shareholders and registered descendants so they can pursue
their career goals. These generous scholarships are available to both full-time and
part-time students in college, training, technical schools and career development.
The funds help offset the cost of attending a program, which is one of the main
obstacles for many individuals interested in post-secondary education.
This year, OC has increased its donation to the Foundation. The
generous contribution will allow the Foundation to continue offering
a $100,000 lifetime maximum per student over the course of their
education.
It’s important to note that non-accredited colleges, trade schools and
programs cannot be funded by the Foundation. The amount awarded
for college students is based on GPA and the funds available each year.
Career Development scholarships are up to $500 per year.

To qualify, you must be enrolled in one of the following programs:
• Full-time college (12+ credits)
• Part-time college (6+ credits)
• Graduate or Doctorate (9+ credits or full time as defined by the
institute)
• Vocational one and two-year programs • Winter/Spring
Application Deadline
- November 30th
• Career Development or short-term training
Additional requirements:
• Alaska Native as defined as “Native” under the Alaska Native Claims
Settlement Act 43 U.S.C. 1602(b).
• Enrolled in Ounalashka Corporation, OR Native lineal descendants
enrolled in Ounalashka Corporation’s Descendant Program.
• Accepted and enrolled to an accredited postsecondary institution for
college or vocational school.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate, and 3.0 for
graduate and doctorate.
