Daniel Macenlle , head of the Urban Protection , then offered to show us the impact of all these measures in their city . He took us on an amazing walk around the city showing the major changes and emphasizing the pedestrian ’ s priority on the roads .
It was truly amazing to see such harmony of use and such a different environment to what we live in Gib . Truly inspiring to see that at the end of the day , what it is all about is prioritizing our health and environment . Pedestrians given full priority of use over all areas is the only thing that they needed to do .
You do not hear horns going , if delivery vehicles or even people returning home after a trip , need to cross the city to their garage or deliver goods , they are free to do so . But priority is firmly with the pedestrians , so drivers just wait until they can get through . Simple .
If you are ever travelling in this beautiful area of Spain , make sure you visit . It will not disappoint .
Our visit to Pontevedra was a real eye-opener , so much positive change has been achieved without actually depriving anyone from doing anything , just prioritizing differently . Such great motivation and inspiration for those of us that want to achieve the same in our little City . So often we consider these measures as something that deprives a sector to favour others . Pontevedra , incidentally now acclaimed Internationally as a case study to follow , proves this is not the case . It ’ s about all of us finding ways of doing things differently in our own interests .
All of us we would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who shared their knowledge and experience making the City of Pontevedra a landmark for future urban planning . You are truly inspiring .
Gané las elecciones hace veinticinco años con estos cambios anunciados en nuestro manifiesto y he sido reelegido desde entonces . Sería ineficaz seguir refiriéndome al plan a cada paso . En lugar de eso , ejecuté los planes anunciados sin necesitar la aprobación constante de la opinión pública . Escuchar cada demanda individual daría como resultado un espacio público poco práctico . Por lo tanto , mantenemos el acceso en coche en todas las vías , pero lo hacemos difícil para disuadir del uso innecesario .

Pero la prioridad la tienen los peatones , así que los conductores se limitan a esperar hasta que puedan pasar . Así de sencillo .
Si alguna vez viaja por esta hermosa zona de España , no deje de visitarla , le sorprenderá .
Nuestra visita a Pontevedra nos abrió los ojos . Se han conseguido muchos cambios positivos sin privar a nadie de hacer nada , sólo priorizando de forma diferente . Una gran motivación e inspiración para todos los que queremos conseguir algo parecido en nuestra pequeña ciudad . Se pueden ordenar medidas justa y que no perjudique a un sector en beneficio de otro .
Pontevedra , reconocida internacionalmente como un caso de estudio a seguir , demuestra que es posible . Debemos encontrar formas de cooperación eficaces y desinteresadas .
