To your adult readers , to civil society , we have to firstly , look after our planet . People have been saying for a long time that there are issues with our climate issues and with exploitation , we abuse emissions , pollution , we deplete natural resources , but it still has not sunk in for most people . So , I would say that all of us at an individual level have to start thinking about changing , to say to ourselves ‘ I am going to do better ’. This could be by recycling more and polluting less on an individual level . But it is not just about what I as an individual can do , but also what I can transmit to those around us , especially to young people . For example , you obviously transmit those ideals to your children . My children are already aware , so now I communicate it to my grandchildren , and they are now more environmentally conscious . In Spain , there is a well know public figure called Federico Mayor Zaragoza , he was the Director-General of UNESCO and changed a lot whilst there , he has such an impressive mentality . He is now 88 years old , but he is still working at 100 % capacity in Spain . He continues to do conferences and continues to move forward with impressive mental clarity . He said , the Charter of the United Nations , written 75 years ago , begins with the words , ‘ we the people .’ He did not say governments , but the people . The people of La Línea , the people of Gibraltar , the people of San Roque , the people of Tangier , we , the people , the common people , we need to change , that is the message . Governments do things , but you know how it goes ? Daniella went to the Climate Change Conference and although interesting topics were discussed , in the end , all it needs is for China to say , ‘ no to this ,’ or for India to say , ‘ no to that ’ and nothing changes . So , Federico Mayor Zaragoza ’ s message is that we need to change , not through wars , but peacefully , bit by bit , day by day , by leading by example , and of course , for future generations to keep learning . That is the only change , there is no other .
