NEW WING AND FOREST ZONE OPENED AT ST PAUL ’ S SCHOOL
A new wing of St Paul ’ s School was opened on the 16 th of June , with a unique ‘ forest zone ’ area also opened for the young students to enjoy .
Part of the old playground has been converted into a small Mediterranean woodland . The tarmac was removed and replaced with soil and plants , including cork oaks and other trees , shrubs and flowers , bringing a much-needed green space to an area filled with concrete and buildings .
The project is a fantastic educational resource for the children , demonstrating the importance of introducing more green spaces in Gibraltar , especially so that young people can learn to appreciate all that nature has to offer .
In a press release , The Minister for Education and Environment , John Cortes , commented : “ This is the next phase in our programme to improve our educational facilities . I am very grateful to everyone who has been involved in this project , which has rejuvenated St Paul ’ s . Work is ongoing both in the three
