El hidrógeno se considera la fuente de combustible limpia del futuro ; sin embargo , su producción requiere mucha energía y se produce históricamente con combustibles fósiles . El hidrógeno « verde » utiliza exclusivamente fuentes de energía renovable para su producción , lo que lo convierte en una fuente de combustible limpio completamente libre de carbono . De cara al futuro , el hidrógeno impulsará sectores y tecnologías difíciles de descarbonizar , como la industria del acero , la aviación y el transporte marítimo y por carretera de larga distancia .
GIBRALTAR GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES CYCLING PROMOTION ASSOCIATION
The Ministry for Transport has announced the launch of the Cycling Promotion Association , which will bring together and engage key stakeholders with a genuine interest in cycling .
The association will be chaired by the Minister for Transport and will consist of representatives from various sectors of the community .
In a statement , the Government said that the association ’ s aim is “ to centralise all consultations and discussions with regards to new cycling infrastructure projects , awareness campaigns , strategic and educational incentives to aid the promotion of cycling in Gibraltar under consideration by Government ”.
Cycling is becoming ever popular in Gibraltar , with quieter roads during lockdown seeing a rise in locals using bicycles to get around . However , little to no infrastructure means that Gibraltar ’ s roads pose a greater safety risk for current cyclists and deters others from using bicycles . However , the Governments statement acknowledged the “ absence of available urban space , as well as road and footpath constraints , which it says present notable challenges to fully segregate cycle lanes , a delicate balance between available pedestrian footpaths , road widths and on-street parking must be achieved to suit the different needs of the community ”.
The Minister for Transport , Vijay Daryanani went on to say , “ In line with the Government ’ s manifesto commitment , I am delighted to launch this new association . It is important that this sustainable form of transport is promoted and encouraged , where the views and feedback of the relevant stakeholders are vital to promote the safe delivery of initiatives un-
