The year 2023 has been a tapestry woven with the threads of creativity , passion , and a shared commitment to exploring the diverse realms of knowledge and culture . We extend our heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you who has supported us , making OTWO more than just a magazine but a thriving community .
Our January 2024 edition marks not only the beginning of a new year but a celebration of the wonderful collaboration that has defined OTWO . We are particularly thrilled to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Andrea Zarzuela and Nerea Becerra in this month ’ s edition , two talented students from the Cádiz Art School . Their illustrations for Anthony Pitaluga ’ s article showcase not only their artistic prowess but also the fostering of emerging talents within our vibrant community . We are proud to be a platform that nurtures creativity and provides opportunities for aspiring artists to shine .
A special shout-out goes to Jesús Arceiz for his collaboration in curating the new section , " The astronomical image of the month ." Jesús ' s expertise has brought a captivating celestial dimension to our magazine , allowing us to delve into the wonders of the universe through the lens of his astronomical insights . We are grateful for his commitment to expanding our editorial horizons and providing our readers with a fresh perspective on the cosmos .
Reflecting on the successes of 2023 fills us with immense pride . The OTWO team was honored to receive the 1st prize at the Gibraltar Sustainability
Awards , a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices . The overwhelming collaboration with over 65 local companies in our Sustainable Transport Campaign has reinforced our belief in the power of collective action towards a greener future .
Furthermore , our two massive events , Green Week Gibraltar and EcoFestival 2 , stand as beacons of community engagement and environmental awareness . These events brought together diverse voices , sparking conversations and initiatives that resonate with the ethos of OTWO Magazine . We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm shown by our community in making these events successful milestones in our journey .
Now , as we stand on the threshold of 2024 , brace yourselves for another exciting venture — our 3rd EcoFestival , scheduled for the beginning of June . This celebration will coincide with World Environment Day and World Bicycle Day , promising to be an unforgettable experience . Picture scenic cycle routes for families to enjoy the beauty of our surroundings and engaging pool competitions to kickstart the beginning of summer . Join us for a joyous family ride , where the spirit of community and love for our planet will be at the forefront . Together , we will pedal towards a greener , healthier future .
