Research and Development Internship

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or pre-registration occupational therapy learner currently in their final year of studies , who has a strong interest in developing their research-related skills and gaining an understanding of the work of the RCOT Education and Research Team .
RCOT ’ s Research and Development Strategy 2019-2024 aims to support the development of research confidence , capability , and capacity within the occupational therapy profession in the UK and as part of our commitment to supporting members to engage in and with research , we are delighted to offer a Research and Development Internship opportunity .
This is a flexible opportunity , with time spent at RCOT ’ s London headquarters , the duration and timing of which will be agreed with the successful intern . The remainder of the time will be spent working remotely . Applicants will need to have the necessary IT hardware , software , access to suitable broadband , and appropriate dedicated working space , to support this .
The internship is for a fixed term contract available between 20 June 2022 and 26 August 2022 . It can be taken either on an 8-week full-time basis ( 35 hours a week ) or part time for 10 weeks ( minimum requirement of 3 days , all options considered ).
The salary is C £ 24,500 a year full time ( pro rata for part time hours ) plus benefits . Accommodation and travel costs are at the intern ’ s expense . A modest budget is available to support related project work and CPD activity .
The Intern can expect to :
• Obtain first-hand experience of working within the Education and Research Team .
• Work alongside the Research and Development Manager and Professional Development Manager on projects to support the ongoing development of research-related CPD resources to support members to enhance their research skills .
• Receive education , supervision and mentoring in relation to research-related skills and personal development .
• Be actively involved in research-related activities and opportunities .
• Experience the RCOT research governance process .
Applications are open to recent graduates ( up to two years post registration ) holding a minimum 2:1 honours degree / merit for preregistration Masters , or pre-registration occupational therapy learners currently in their final year of study with the equivalent predicted final degree outcomes .
Applicants must also have a strong interest in research and development that can be demonstrated as part of the selection process .
