2022 RCOT BOARD MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

APPLICANTS SOUGHT FROM ACROSS THE UK , TO INFLUENCE THE PROFESSION
The Royal College of Occupational Therapists is looking for active and engaged members to contribute to their profession and make a difference . We have vacancies on three of the RCOT Country Boards : England , Wales and
Northern Ireland .
To contribute to an RCOT Board , you will need to be able to think strategically , be politically aware and committed to best practice . You will need to be confident to contribute actively to debate and to inform professional developments .
Could this be you ? Board membership provides a valuable opportunity to develop your strategic leadership skills and experience .
These vacancies are open to all RCOT members in the relevant countries . The boards and the organisation benefit from a creative dynamic and to achieve this RCOT takes an inclusive approach , welcoming members with diverse experiences and backgrounds .
Applications are welcome from all areas of practice , but those from members with the following knowledge would be particularly helpful :
RCOT Board : England – Three vacancies within the areas of social care ; children and young people ; commissioning ; independent practice and equity , diversity and belonging . Applications are especially welcome from members in the North East ; North West ; South West and Eastern regions .
RCOT Board : Wales – Two vacancies within the areas of acute , primary care and social care . Applications are especially welcome from members from North Wales .
RCOT Board : Northern Ireland – Two vacancies within the areas of children and young people , community , acute and rehabilitation / reablement . Applications are especially welcome from the Northern , Western and Southern Health and Social Care Trusts .
• RCOT Boards normally meet three times a year , usually in March , July , and November .
• Meetings are currently virtual . In the future , there will be a mix of face-to-face and virtual meetings . All reasonable travel expenses for Board related activities will be reimbursed .
• Boards provide a forum within which members can influence and inform the work of RCOT .
• The term of office is three years , commencing after the RCOT Annual General Meeting ( AGM ).
• Board members must be working and / or resident within the geographical remit of the Board .
Application deadline : 5pm on Friday 18 February 2022 . Successful applicants will take up their role for their respective Board on the date of the RCOT AGM Meeting .
