RCOT
( CAMHS ) in West London NHS Trust said : ‘ It sounds like you ’ re trying to safeguard the organisation and make it fit for the future and I think that ’ s really important .’
Getting involved
Together with Council , we ’ ll keep all members updated throughout the governance review . We ’ ll let you know when changes have been identified , what they are and how they ’ ll strengthen our governance , and most importantly , how those changes affect you as a member .
We ’ ll give you opportunities to get a deeper understanding , ask questions , challenge and make suggestions at each stage . You ’ ll be able to read about the review and proposed changes on the governance hub on our website and in OTnews , and we ’ ll keep you updated by email and on social media . You can also come along to drop-ins , where Council members will talk through the changes and answer questions .
Cathryn adds : ‘ Governance is complex . So get involved . Come to one of the drop in sessions with Council members , to discuss any questions or queries and read the information provided on the RCOT website and in OTnews .’
By strengthening our governance , our members can be confident that their professional body is fit for purpose , following good practice and legally compliant , with the risk of regulatory intervention significantly reduced and best placed to make informed business decisions .
Improving and modernising our governance will help strengthen the impact we can have on the profession
As Paul concludes : ‘ As occupational therapists we continually strive to improve our services , the same is true for RCOT ’ s governance . We want to make changes to ensure our governance is responsive and focused to have the greatest impact for our members and the wider profession .’
