The 80’s and 90’s are similar in many ways, I think they are the two eras we see most influence from in today's fashion, sports and lounge wear became much of everyday life, tracksuits and and sweatshirts thrived during the 80’s alongside t-shirts with prints, especially well known brands, this may be the beginning of the importance of wearing well known brands. Because of the time, new channels were being used for consumers to find their new trends. The introduction of TV channels such as MTV meant people could see what their celebrity idols were wearing from wherever they were in the world. This meant trends spread much quicker than previously and similar things were worn across the world.

The 90’s was when Hip Hop culture truly became popular, everything that came with it saw the rise as well, fashion being a big part. Trends continued from the 80’s, and fashion moved to the streets, whether it being Hip Hop or skate, this was the beginning of street wear. Many new brands started to appear offering products for this new trend, one being Supreme which is still a major player in the street wear market today. This market has continued to grow since the 90’s and is definitely a unisex trend which is something taken from the 60’s where fashion became more androgynous. These chosen eras have had the most impact on my style, so I am very interested as to how it has grown and developed over time.
