I have chosen to produce a video showing a selection of items which have been inspired by three different eras. I had an idea early on that I wanted to create my video in this way, I knew what eras I liked the most, I also had a selection of items that I could use for each era and wanted to use the resources I had to the full ability. The racks and chairs I had made perfect props to ensure that the items were the centre of attention. I had to make some changes while making the video, which I had not planned but I feel it still turned out well.
The three eras that I have chosen are the 60’s, 80’s and 90’s. The reason for these eras is because I like different aspects from them more than any of the other eras. For this video I particularly looked at the Mod culture for the 60’s and a Hip Hop street style for the 80’s and 90’s. The 60’s presented more freedom and not just in fashion, the 60’s allowed a lot more styles to be created, such as the mod and bohemian, giving people a way of expressing themselves. The passing of many laws and acts, allowing people to be more equal and accepted also helped the way individuals expressed themselves through fashion. That's what I believe the 60’s has contributed to fashion.
