As more brands have entered the market other ways of getting your customers attention other than your in store product is needed, the way retailers communicate with their customers is vital in leading customers to the product, in this age of technology its use is not held back, now customers don't have to travel to stores to get the information they need. I'm going to look into two different retailers and see how they communicate with their audience.
The two retailers are Billionaires Boys Club and Dover Street Market, they are both high end retailers in the sectors they are in. Billionaires Boys Club, a high end street wear brand owned by Pharrell Williams and Nigo, the founder of clothing company BAPE. Dover Street market is high end department store owned by Comme Des Garçon, stocking a variety of brands including runway fashion. These two stores are likely to have different target customers so this would potentially affect the way they communicate with them.
Firstly lets start with BBC, their customers are likely to be of a younger demographic, from research that I carried out I found that they use a variety of social media to stay connected to their audience, including Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
