I appeared for Civil Services again in 2015 and got into IAS and presently I am undergoing training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration.
When you were in final year in OUCE, how did you see yourself( professionally) after 10 years, and how different was it in reality? Well, I didn ' t have a vision for 10 years then but I thought I should make some contribution to the society at large. My initial plan was to explore the opportunities in the software industry and probably go abroad for better avenues. However destiny had some other plans for me.
While working in Infosys, I thought doing an MBA would give me better prospects for growth. After completing my MBA, I got into BHEL through campus recruitment. While working for BHEL, I realized that my contributions in my present position were very limited. I would have a better and larger scope if I can get into Civil services. It took a couple of attempts for me before I got into IPS and finally made it into IAS in the year 2015.
When you look back at yourself“ as a student” in OUCE, what is it that you would like to change and why? I would probably explore more options and opportunities before starting a career. I would have a long term plan and probably would discuss my career plan with seniors / mentors for their valuable inputs and guidance.

Message to the Alumni:

Why do you think it is necessary to have an Alumni Association at OUCE? The world’ s best educational institutions are known for their strong alumni network. Alumni network contributes immensely through their support and guidance.
Alumni Association is such a network building platform and its contribution will go a long way.
How do you think, we, as alumni of OUCE can give back to our college? No matter where we are, we should dedicate some time for our Alma Mater and contribute in whatever way we can. For example, one can come for guest lectures, mentor students in their career planning, contribute in developing infrastructure or help in strengthening the Alumni Association.
How do you perceive the Global Alumni Meet being held on 25th December 2016 It is a great platform to reunite with the college and the batchmates, juniors and seniors. Who would not want to relive the nostalgia? It would certainly help in strengthening the bond. This would also open up communication channels for all, which would go a long way in helping their career progression and personal bonding.
Your suggestions for Alumni Association Alumni association is doing a great job and I really appreciate the work. I am really proud to be associated with the same. Some suggestions:
1. Try to have programs that can guide the students in various career aspects. 2. Conduct guest lectures for students in coordination with the faculty.

Message to the Students:

Your message for the students / younger generation who wish to build their career in your field? Well, the career I chose is a very challenging one and even more dynamic in the present days. The challenges for governance are much more diverse and new. The society is well informed and demanding now than ever. At the same time it gives a lot of scope for work and one can actually make a positive impact on the society and contribute for its well-being. The preparation for the very exam itself is challenging and one may have to invest years of their career and life to crack it. So before embarking on this journey, please do think whether you
