Best moments at OUCE I came to Osmania University in 2nd Year. I had studied the 1st year in Andhra University and our engineering course was for 5 Years. In the 2nd Year, I was a day scholar and from 3rd year onwards I was in the hostel and used to have many friends. The days I spent in the hostel are among the best moments of my life.
Funny moments at OUCE I remember, we use to have a pay phone in the main building. We had to pay 50 paisa for calling. One of my friends very ingeniously drilled a hole in the 50p coin and tied a thread to it. We used the same coin for making all the calls. It was an adventure for us. We used to spend a lot of time in the canteen and Hilton café for the ½ tea with bun and omelet. Some of my friends used to have tea in Andhra Mahila Sabha college, which was taken as a challenge. Travelling in buses from Arts College to OUCE without any ticket or bus pass and getting down when ticket collector comes, was a very funny and adventurous during those days.
What Osmania taught me? I was more of an introvert when I joined Osmania. When I left the college, I was completely changed. I was the President of Students Union, always busy outside the college, with lot of elections and campaigning going around. We used to go from class to class for campaigning which taught me leadership qualities like public speaking, self-organizing and ability to take care of others problems. In those days, there were very few private colleges under Osmania University. The college management
