foreign currency because of negative balance of trade. So I started studying Export projects and realized that more than 75 % of our Raw Coffee was exported to developed countries as it is. Then I decided to start a 100 % Exported Oriented Unit( EOU), known as Asian Coffee Ltd., which came into production and was set up in Toopran Mandal, Medak District in the year 1990. Then subsequently this Company was taken over by Tata Tea Ltd.
In the year 1995, I started Continental Coffee Ltd.( Now Known as CCL Products India Ltd.) Since then, we have been exporting soluble Instant Coffee to many countries. At present, the number of countries we export to has crossed 60. We subsequently set up Instant Coffee units in Switzerland and Vietnam as well.
Can you tell us more about your contributions to industries, startup ecosystem? For more than 25 years now, I have been engaged in Manufacture of Instant Coffee and I always endeavour to add value to our National Wealth by exporting finished products only.
We have generated good opportunities in rural areas by creating employment and outsourcing most of our factory requirements from the near by rural areas. Our way of giving back to the society is by creating job opportunities and employing the people from the rural areas. Recently we have decided to promote computer literacy among high school students in several districts as a part of our CSR activities.
When you were in final year in OUCE, how did you see yourself( professionally) after 10 years, and how different was it in reality? As I reached the final year, I was very ready and willing to look for the first opportunity that would guide me to setup a small scale manufacturing unit. Fortunately by God ' s grace all my efforts worked well and I was able to setup Instant coffee manufacturing unit which added a great value to the Coffee industry of our country and I could see my dream fulfilled.
Recognizing my contribution to the Coffee Industry, the Govt. Of India appointed me as a member of the Indian Coffee Board.
When you look back to yourself“ as a student” in OUCE, what is it that you would like to change and why? I would very much wish that final year students get opportunities to work in the industry in their respective fields of Engineering for atleast a period of 6 months which helps the students face the real-time work environment.

Why do you think it is necessary to have an Alumni Association at OUCE Alumni Association helps each of the alumni to relive the college life, relish the old Friendships, helps the newer generation in understanding the glory and pride of being a part of OUCE and also creates a bridge between the current students and the alumni.
How do you think, we, as alumni of OUCE can give back to our College By supporting and funding the research projects and also by providing economic assistance to brilliant and needy students.
How do you perceive the Global Alumni Meet being held on 25thDecember 2016 GlobalAlumni Meet is a great idea. It offers wonderful opportunities to reunite ourselves with our batch mates, seniors and Juniors and helps in renewing long lost friendships.
Your suggestions for Alumni Association The Office bearers of the Alumni association must try and contact maximum number of alumni at the earliest. This will help in increasing the participation of the Alumni members.
