One of Alba’s many artworks.
Prisms Gallery, open in July 2013, works with a
non-profit organization called Partnerships in
Community Living which provides support for
people with developmental disabilities. The
gallery has received so much positive feedback
from the community, they are branching out to
other alter-ability groups. Stay tuned for more
news from Prisms Gallery!
Alba’s art is swirly and curly. Her work moves.
She is a poet, a painter and an illustrator.
American Sign Language (ASL) is her favorite
medium. She creates beautiful, threedimensional pictures in the air around her using
her entire body. Alba draws with curlicue
flourishes that seem to shift and flutter in the
breeze. Her paintings are a celebration of color.
Usually abstract, the paint swirls and dances like
Alba herself.
Alba works on an art project.
OSD is proud of all of our students, but April
(National Poetry Month) is all about Alba.
Congratulations to Alba and her family!
Prisms Gallery is hosting a reception for Alba on
the 3rd Saturday of April. More information
