General Orthopedics
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The General Orthopedics team conducts research on a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including club foot, Charcot-Marie-Tooth( CMT) disease and a variety of pediatric fractures. By exploring the causes, treatment options and long-term outcomes of these disorders, the program seeks to advance understanding of pediatric orthopedic health and ultimately improve outcomes for children affected by these common musculoskeletal conditions.
In May 2025, Margaret Siobhan Murphy-Zane, MD, presented her findings on“ Hip Abduction Brace is an Effective Alernative to Pavlik Harness Treatment of Femur Fractures in Infants 12 Months and Younger” at the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America( POSNA) annual meeting.
