Interview with the Junior High School principal Bat Sheva

Interviewer: What do you like in your work?

Bat Sheva: Things I like in my work are the pupils, the energy, the fact that I can promote things, also new things, to bring a good mood, to improve the school's climate and to see the children that are happy to come to school and love the school.

Interviewer: What were your difficulties when you began this work?

Bat Sheva: At the beginning of my work the main difficulty was to gather all the teachers in my mind in order to achieve the best to school. Fostering with a lovely mood. The majority of the teachers agree with me and so the parents and the pupils. Because I worked here before as a teacher.

Interviewer: When do you wake up to school?

Bat Sheva: I wake up to school at 6:00 in the morning. I arrive to school at 7:30 and stay there till late.

Interviewer: What do you think about the school success?

Bat Sheva: I am proud with school success because I am part of it. I am also proud of my teachers who follow my ideas. I believe this what's lead to the big success.

Interviewer: What did you learn from your years as a principal?

Bat Sheva: I learned from my work during the years that the most important things are the value of dialogue, the respectable talks with parents, pupils and teachers. The talks are conducted pleasantly, without shouting and with a positive approach. In this way it is possible to get to anyone.

Interviewer: What do you think is the most important thing you do in school as principal?

Bat Sheva: The most important thing I do in school as a principal is to proceed the respectable dialogue between pupils and their teachers. I also believe it's important to be a model for many new teachers who really need help and guidance. In addition, I have a great concern about referring to excellent and challenged pupils equally. They are all humans for me, I care for the pupils' strengths.

Interviewer: How do you solve problems of violence at school?

Bat Sheva: I solve violence problems by respectable dialogues between pupils and if there is a need I involve parents. Violence is a serious issue that I have to deal with it in a meaningful way.

Interviewer: What is your agenda as principal in school?

Bat Sheva: My agenda as a principal in school is to come with love to school even when there are hard moments. We must remember to keep growing and always bring new things.
