Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy December 2013 | Page 7

Thanks to Premier Foods who, after hearing what Shelfield students were doing, donated a large amount of food as shown in the picture with the Principal, students and staff involved in the charity appeal. The students are hoping to make one of the biggest donations to the Food Bank and at the

same time help raise the awareness of the Food

Bank in the local area for other people to help in

the future.

Academy students are collecting food items donated by Form Groups. By writing letters to the local primary schools, the students are also creating links with the community and helping the Foob Bank replenish their stock. Our thanks goes to the primary schools involved in supporting this worthy cause. The year 11 students have also made Christmas decorations in their art lessons to sell, a Christmas cake raffle, guess the name of the bear, Christmas non-uniform day and a Christmas coffee morning; all

to raise money to help re-stock the food bank at this imporatnt time of year.
