carried out here. Besides, in the neighborhood of Agravakar, by the cult place
of Anahit, a special stone called “Blacksmith’s stone” is mentioned, to which
the pagans attributed miracles. In the present article the above-mentioned
data is discussed in the context of one of the most important phenomenons of
Ancient Armenia, vishapakars («dragon-stones»). It is shown that the sacred
landscape described by Khorenatsi has its parallels in corresponding
enviroments known by archaeological data and to be typical for vishapakars.
