Scarce airmail cover for the second Airship ‘Columbia’
Trans-Atlantic flight. ONE OF ONLY TWO envelopes handed
to the crew in Montreal before airship Columbia’s flight from
Harbour Grace, Newfoundland to England. This 1930 flight
cover addressed to Montreal, Canada (for roundtrip journey),
and signed by Pilot ‘Captain J. Errol Boyd’ and Navigator ‘Lt.
Harry P. Connor U.S.M.R.’. Franked with Canada George V
2¢ (uncanceled) & Newfoundland Prince of Wales 4¢ (Scott
#148) with ‘HARBOUR GRACE OC.9’ cds. On arrival in
England additional franking added of George V ½d green &
1d red tied by ‘LONDON 11.OC’ for return postage back to
Montreal. Very fine. Makes for a great showpiece!
(8) 1857 KAMEHAMEHA III 5¢ BLUE, W/USA #17 ..... PH $6000
A tremendous usage from Hawaii to New York franked with a
single Hawaii #8 stamp and USA #17 stamp, both with small
creases on orange cover. Both stamps tied with 1860
San Francisco cds, red Honolulu Postage Paid cds at side.
Cover repaired along the top edge, missing backflap, very fine
appearance. (1994 PF Cert #281815). Cat $10,000.

Artcraft. Duplication generally moderate, majority unaddressed. Overall very fine.
