USA FDC ACCUMULATIONS

Grouping of almost 600 covers, mostly cacheted FDCs.
Highlight of group is stack of 63 colorful Texas Refinery Corp
FDCs from 1961-65, 32 different, on #10 envelopes, large
designs with a cartoon ‘tornado with a cowboy hat’. Stamp
issues include Nursing, Sun Yat Sen, Christmas, Shakespeare,
Remington, Dag Hammarskjold, Seattle & New York World’s
Fairs, others. Two are from BOAC Jetliner Service first flight
NYC to Lima, Peru with all-over showing the tornado and
Earth. Most have original enclosures. Fine to very fine. Other
FDCs are basic Art Craft cachets, some addressed, from
mid-1960s to late 1970s including commemoratives, some
booklet panes, Americana, coils, Airmails. Noted a couple
regular covers and UN FDCs.
1938-39 PREXIE FIRST DAY COVER COLLECTION

Collection of 206 addressed & cacheted first day covers for
the Presidential Series, housed in deluxe cover album. Includes
several cachetmakers and a few handpainteds. Highlights
include COMPLETE set of regulars, coils and booklet panes
with Fidelity cachets (Planty #5, 5a); Grimsland cachets for
regulars lacks only $2; Grandy cachets complete for regulars,
plus a few coils; Cachet Craft cachets for all four vertical coil
issues; Mayne’s Cover Service cachets for regulars & horizontal
coils, lacks 16¢, 24¢, 30¢ & $5; handpainted from Dewitt,
B.Kraft and an unknown artist; other selected covers from
Egolf, Pavois, J.W. Lawrence and some unknowns. Overall
fine to very fine with no duplication.

Two banker’s boxes, each 2/3rd filled with stacks of cacheted
FDCs. One box USA, one box United Nations, most cacheted
with standard cachets, a few special event covers. Majority
from late 1950s to early 1970s but did note a few Prexies and
Famous Americans. Some addressed, some in plastic sleeves.
Overall very fine. Moderate duplication to be expected.
1940-52 FDCs W/ MINKUS PATRIOTIC CACHETS

Blue deluxe cover album with 223 First Day covers, each with
Minkus Patriotic cachet. Many different colorful cachets with
eagles, torches, ships, flags, workers, allegories and WWII
symbols. Some cachets used for multiple issues over the years.
Stamp issues range from 1940 Defense up to early 1950s
commemoratives, with many Overrun Nations and other
wartime issues. Overall fine to very fine, most addressed as
typical for the period, minor duplication. Attractive grouping.

1941-44 OVERRUN NATIONS FDC COLLECTION

Two large brown deluxe Fleetwood cover albums, packed with
376 cacheted first day covers for the Overrun Nations Series.
Includes following cachet makers: Fidelity, Smartcraft (first
cachet), Ioor, Aristocrats-Lowry, M. Sanders, Poppenger,
Grimsland, Fleetwood-Knapp, Art Craft, WMG (signed by
Grandy), GP. Goldstein, Crosby, C. Anderson, L.W. Staehle.
J.W.C. and others from unknown cachetmakers. Most sets
complete per cachet maker, some extras, some duplicates, most
with stamp singles, some inscription blocks, set of poster
stamps used as cachets. At least half addressed. Overall fine to
very fine.

1850s-1990s LARGE MIXED COVER LOT ................ $500-700
Very large, varied cover lot in 7-banker boxes running the gamut
from typical commercial office mail of the 1980s-90s to some
better covers with values to $50 or so, even some postcards
here. Concentration appears to be the 1920s and more modern.
Overall condition is fine, but there are damaged and even cover
fronts to be found. Many covers in several boxes, likely well
over 10,000 covers. Close inspection and elbow grease could
reward.

Selection of more than 275 covers (a few fronts) mostly franked
with low denomination Large & Small Banknotes in 3 cover
albums. Good variety of corner cards, several illustrated
advertisements and some interesting cancels including fancy/
geometrical handstamps, machine Flags and others. Also some
Special Delivery and Postage Due covers. A few highlights
include: 1894 illustrated cover with ‘BEST IN THE WORLD’
advertising for Brainerd & Armstrong superior silk with spools
on front & factory on back; 1894 cover J. E. Rhoades & Sons
with nice brown illustration on front & product ads for ‘Gilt
Edge’, ‘Volta Dynamo’ & Leather Belt Preserver on back;
corner cards including 1904 ‘PIANOS’/Harding & Miller Music
Co, 1886 Chas W. Stuart & Co/Nurserymen, 1883 Rhode Island
Label Works & others. Mixed condition from roughly opened/
damaged to fine to very fine.
