Extremely scarce set of 3 DIFFERENT patterns of control
perforation markings on #344 (one, Dec 2, could in theory be
a new EKU of #384, but we didn’t lift the stamp). The first
(undated) has Grand Central postmark and 4-hole diamond
pattern. Second, May 18, features 7-hole pattern in 3-2-2 rows.
Final cover (Dec. 2, 1910) has 4-hole, 2-2 row pattern. Covers
are all in kind of rough condition, but represent a rare study
opportunity for control marks on Schermack private coils. Fine.

tied by black cork fancy cancels. Nearby Champlain, NY, cds.
Stamps sound with typical fine centering. Cat value for three
used singles with split grill. Cat $690.

Buenos Aires, Argentina. Franked with four stamps: Scott #151
12¢ dull violet Banknote pair, 3¢ green Banknote & 2¢ red
brown Banknote. All fine, all tied with segmented cork, 5/11/
75 Richmond cds at side. New York, London and Calais
(France) transits and receivers on address side; Paris and
Buenos Aires transit & receiver on back. Wild routing, very
fine and attractive cover. Makes for a great showpiece!

The 1¢ green sheet waste on a picture postcard (Sager’s Lake,
Valparaiso Ind.), EXTREMELY RARE. A very fine four margin
single Washington 1¢ green, perf 11, rotary press. Probably
the BEST copy known, especially as Scott Catalog lists the
issue in ‘fine condition’ only. Tied with May 21, 1924,
Valparaiso, Ind., machine cancel. Makes for an incredible
showpiece! Cat $7500.

vignette with background shading well into ‘UNITED STATES,’
tied with Atco, NJ duplex, addressed to Tansboro, with
Philadelphia transit cds on back. Small piece torn away lower
left corner, otherwise very fine. A scarce and dramatic vignette
shift.
