DOUBLE IMPRESSION ERROR ............................... PH $2000
NEW DISCOVERY after 45 years. Top margin single (tagged,
shiny gum) showing complete double impression of image
(shows most clearly in selvage), with strong intaglio impression,
ruling out possibility of setoff or tagging ghost. Very striking,
with only two examples currently known. Very fine, MINT
never hinged. (2013 APS Cert #203528 for pair, of which this
is left stamp).

(1338 var) 1968 FLAG OVER WHITE HOUSE
6¢ MULTI, PART PERF ERROR GROUP .......... PH $750-1000
Group of margin blocks & pairs with either part perforation or
blind perfs at right margins. Includes plate block (#31476),
two ZIP blocks, two regular blocks and two pairs with either
completely imperf right margins or one or two stray perf
dimples. Additional group of nine blocks with visible ‘blind’
vertical perfs in margin (seven are plate blocks). Seldom seen
and not listed as such by Scott, all listed errors involve the
horizontal perfs. MINT never hinged, very fine.
$650
Extremely scarce horizontal pair with vertical gutter and no
foldover creasing common to these errors. Phosphor tagged
version. Listed but not valued in Scott. MINT never hinged.
2285
$300
Very fine and unusual bottom margin plate number single
(#29276 and #29280), showing GREEN border rather than
GOLD. Interior of stamp design area also shows light flaking.
Tagging appears to be undisturbed, making tampering unlikely.
Green ink shows characteristics of non-metallic standard
printing ink, likely negating any type of ink contamination or
color changeling. Since Eakins stamp was first U.S. stamp
produced by photogravure, production was contracted out to
‘Photogravure & Color Co.’ of New Jersey. Is this a possible
test piece or essay? MINT never hinged.
