ACADEMICS

ACADEMICS Orange County School of the Arts provides a rigorous academic program aligned with the California Common Core State Standards . Students attend approximately five hours of academic classes in addition to two and a half hours of arts instruction daily . Students maintain a schoolwide Grade Point Average ( GPA ) of 3.3 , with the senior class averaging a 3.68 GPA . More than 38 % of the senior class earns a 4.0 GPA or higher . The school offers 22 Advanced Placement ( AP ) courses . OCSA has been recognized locally , regionally , and nationally by various prestigious organizations , including the U . S . Department of Education , California Department of Education , Newsweek , U . S . News & World Report , and Niche , for providing one of the most demanding and intensive academic programs in Southern California .
