What does Ola carry around in her toolbox?
Volo collaborated with Honda Canada to create
exclusive artwork for the launch of the Civic Coupe.
I never travel without my iPad Pro – it’s an incredible tool I use to
sketch and complete my digital work anywhere. I especially love
setting up a work station on the plane and drawing the whole flight.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone
looking to pursue a career in art?
Be authentic. Compete only with yourself and produce a lot of work,
all the time.
You spend a lot of time traveling for various mural
projects. Where do you call home these days?
Right now I'm traveling around Portugal, but Montréal is my home
these days.
When you’re not working on your art, how do you enjoy
your time off?
I am away a lot for my work, so any time I have off I try to come
back to Vancouver to spend time with my family and friends. I love
to go to the ocean, hike and find ways to get away into nature. It
grounds me and recharges my brain.
Where in Vancouver can our readers find more of your
artwork?
I have many murals around Vancouver. People can spot them
anywhere from Kits, Granville Street, Granville Island, Main Street,
Hastings Street, etc. And of course, one of my favourites is at
OpenRoad Volkswagen in Burnaby.
What are you working on currently? Are you able to give
our readers a sneak peek?
I am currently brainstorming ideas for my next mural in Toronto. I
can’t wait to share it with you soon!
Volo created special edition Louis Vuitton boxes
for the company’s 35 th anniversary in Canada.
