Porsche Centre Groundbreaking
»
OpenRoad Auto Group unveiled plans to build a new Porsche retail
centre during a recent groundbreaking ceremony. Porsche Centre
Langley will serve the needs of Surrey-Langley and the Fraser
Valley in a 42,000-sq.ft. (3,900-sq.m.) facility. Porsche Canada
executives, council members from the City of Langley, Porsche Club
representatives, project partners and business dignitaries were on
hand to celebrate the groundbreaking.
In attendance were: Alexander Pollich, President of Porsche Cars
Canada; Christian Chia, President of OpenRoad Auto Group; The
Hon. Peter Fassbender, BC Minister of Education; The Hon. Ted
Schaffer, Mayor of The City of Langley; Blair Qualey, President
of the New Car Dealers Association of BC; and John McFarlane,
Founding Member of the Western Canada Chapter of Porsche Club
America.
“It took all of 13 days for the City of Langley to review and approve
our development permit,” said Chia, “so if that isn’t Porsche-like
speed and performance, I don’t know what is! When this building is
complete, it will be the home of passion and performance and it will
be the gathering place for people that share a love for iconic sports
cars.”
The new centre is scheduled to open in the fall of 2014 in the new
Langley Auto Collection, Canada’s only exclusive luxury auto mall.
Porsche will be OpenRoad’s eleventh brand.
