The language we use

It is important that we are consistent in the use of language to describe education at Queen Mary . The following terminology is recommended to make sure it is clear to students and others what is being described :

Education / Educating	Educators	Employability skills	Learners	Learning	Learning on campus
Learning online	Learning through independent studies	Learning together	Mixed Mode Education	Online classroom solution / remote meeting platform	Virtual Learning Environment

Terminology which can be interpreted in multiple ways ( such as Blended Learning / Education or Hybrid Learning / Education ) or which is technical ( such as Synchronous or Asynchronous Learning ) should be avoided .
