Draw pins some of the heavy weights against each other

This week’s Women's Statewide Cup sees a number of the competition's heavyweights having to fight against each other to progress to the quarter finals.

Devonport City v University SC

Saturday 22nd March @ 2:00pm

Devonport City have the advantage of home territory and that will be enough to see them overcome a young and devloping University side. Until University experience more rouad trips as a playing group their inexperience will not see them progress in such formats.

Beachside FC v Ulverstone SC

Saturday 22nd March @ 1:00pm

The early start will be a leveller in this encounter but I still suspect Ulverstone will progress. Ulverstone who have previoulsy been known for some of their achievements on the road in the

Cup will add to their impressive accomplishments.

Tilford Zebras v Glenorchy Kgts

Saturday 22nd March @ 2:00pm

Zebras arent going in to this match lightly and though they should easily dispatch Knights coach John moutsatsos has some concerns around his starting eleven.

"Searna Micheal and Mollie Dobnar have both had a week off with tonsillitis but should be available for selection this weekend. Keeper Caitlin Ketley is again unavailable so Kate Chambers will have another go in goal. Other than Caitlin we should a large enthusiastic squad to choose from.

Knights have some very good players across all lines. Gemma and Chantelle up front could punish us if left unattended , our midfield will need to restrict their supply."
