Round of 16 fixtures produce a few interesting encounters
LAKOSELJAC CUP
This weekend's Round of 16 clashes provide us with a few interesting encounters and few less than interesting ones.
With FFA now introducing the FFA Cup to the national stage its each team for itself.
Devonport City v Ulverstone SC
Saturday 22nd March @ 4:30pm
Devonport City will be looking to put behind them a tough few weeks with the distruption after the loss of a number of key players. Coach Nick Owen will have his side primed for the North West Derby and Strikers should breeze past Ulverstone.
Launceston City v Somerset SC
Saturday 22nd March @ 2:00pm
Victory League side Launceston City should have no difficulty in putting Northern Premier League side Somerset SC away. If City are to improve on last year they will need to make sure they take advantage of such teams to to start to build a winning culture.
Glenorchy Kgts v University SC
Saturday 22nd March @ 4:30pm
This is one of the few fixtures in the South that maybe interesting. On paper Knights should easily dispose of University but with a number of ex Knights players lining up for the students, Knights will need to make the most of their chances and bury the students early or risk a quick exit from their own heritage Cup.
Taroona FC v Clarence United
Sunday 23rd March @ 2:30pm
This fixture will be won by Taroona FC but as Clarence United get more experience in their legs over the season this fixture will become closer.
Beachside SC v Kingborough SC
Saturday 22nd March @ 3:30pm
Kingborough should have too much creatrvity for the Beach but never count out the Beach on their home ground.
South Hobart v Nelson Est Subs
Sunday 23rd March @ 2:00pm
If South dont win by double digits Nelson should be given the win on the OTKTB handicap system. Never say Never... But here I do.
