2014 Objectives:
Last year we may not have had the success we wished for on the field, however we created an atmosphere at the club that was extremely positive with respect for one another on and off the pitch. This year we hope to build on this and see some rewards by finishing higher up the ladder. I believe that all the girls should be treated equally as today’s reserve player is tomorrow’s senior player.
New Players:
From Olympia: Nicole Hale and Ellie Piesse
From Clarence: Dannielle Kannegiesser, Niamh O’Brien, Janey Archer, Monique Undy, Lydia Toghill and Rachel Riddler
From Eagles: Zoe Nichols
State U15’s: Abbey Clark and Monica Orlowski
NTC: Sophia Tsamassiros
Taroona: Sharni Reid
Woodbridge: Laura Mitchell
USA: Alissa Bowden
Returning to Zebras after a spell: Mollie Dabner and Maddy Dobson
Players lost:
We have a number of players leave us this year , a number of girls have left the state some no longer playing and others out due to injury. Senior players that have left include Paris Baker (travelling) Maggie Goldsmith, Emma Cazaly, Cassie Tye, Ruth Mendoza, Imogen Pryor and Elle Ortmann, having moved interstate.
Players to look out for:
Zoe Nichols, great ball skills with pace. Sarah Morris, could be the most powerful striker in the league. Mollie Dabner, strong fast defender. Alyssa Bowden, makes football look so easy.
Finishing Order:
I think Olympia are still the team to beat.
