BMF Campus strengthens workforce competence with new Building Safety Act training and CPD accreditation

BMF Campus continues to expand its commitment to developing knowledge and competence across the building materials sector with the launch of a new Building Safety Act e-learning module and the achievement of Continuing Professional Development( CPD) accreditation for the flagship Building Blocks programme.
Together, these milestones reinforce the BMF’ s ongoing investment in providing members with high-quality, industry-relevant learning that supports professional development, regulatory compliance and the delivery of trusted advice throughout the construction supply chain.
New Building Safety Act e-learning module Developed by Cortexa specifically for builders’ merchants, the new Building Safety Act e-learning module has been created to help merchant teams understand their responsibilities under the legislation and confidently support customers in an increasingly regulated construction environment.
Available through BMF Campus, the module translates the requirements of the Building Safety Act into practical, easy-to-understand learning that helps businesses strengthen compliance, reduce risk and build confidence across their workforce.
As expectations surrounding workforce competence, product information and regulatory compliance continue to increase, ensuring colleagues understand not only what the legislation requires, but also how it applies to their day-to-day roles has never been more important.
Developing effective learning for the building materials supply chain requires more than simply interpreting legislation. Cortexa works closely with leading builders’ merchants, manufacturers and industry experts to ensure every learning programme reflects the realities of the sector while keeping pace with changing regulations, evolving standards and industry best practice.
Professional recognition for BMF Building Blocks Alongside the launch of the new Building Safety Act module, the BMF and learning technology partner Cortexa are also celebrating a significant achievement for BMF Campus, with ten of the twelve Building Block courses now achieving CPD accreditation.
Having successfully completed the independent assessment process, the following courses are now CPD accredited:
• Introduction to Residential Construction
• Heating & Hot Water Comfort
• Building Insulation
• Working Safely & Securely
• Timber as a Building Material
• Introduction to Bathrooms
• Landscaping
• An Introduction to Drylining
• Domestic Showering
• Above Ground Drainage
CPD accreditation provides learners and employers with additional assurance that the training has been independently assessed against recognised professional standards, delivering meaningful and measurable learning outcomes.
For suppliers supporting the Building Blocks programme, accreditation further enhances the value and credibility of the technical knowledge they contribute, helping position product education as an important part of workforce competence and continuing professional development.
The Building Blocks programme has become a cornerstone of learning within BMF Campus, providing accessible, industry-relevant training that helps merchants broaden product knowledge, improve customer confidence and support career development across a wide range of construction topics.
Commenting on the achievement, the BMF Campus team said:
“ Achieving CPD accreditation for the majority of our Building Block courses is a fantastic accomplishment and demonstrates our commitment to delivering training that is both relevant and professionally recognised. It provides additional value for learners, employers and suppliers alike, while further strengthening the role of BMF Campus as the industry’ s leading online learning platform.”
Work is already underway to secure CPD accreditation for the remaining Building Block courses, alongside plans to pursue accreditation for the BMF Diploma programme over the coming year.
These latest developments demonstrate the continued evolution of BMF Campus as more than simply an online learning platform. By combining professionally recognised learning with timely, sector-specific content such as the Building Safety Act module, BMF Campus is helping merchants develop the knowledge, competence and confidence needed to meet the demands of a rapidly changing construction industry.
