Alan Shearer has praised the generosity of the North East community after taking delivery of a new car from local car giants and family run business Benfield Motor Group to raffle for his charity.
The Renault Twingo donation was dropped off in the grounds of the Alan Shearer Center, the specialist residential, respite and social provision for disabled people, which is managed by North east charity St Cuthberts care and maintained with funds raised through the Alan Shearer Foundation.

Handing the keys to Alan, Benfield motor group’s Operation Director, Colin Pybus, said the firm had teamed up to support Alan’s Foundation to the exceptional services the center offers to people wih complex disabilities, and their families, from across the region.
The former Newcastle and England football star said he is very proud and immensely grateful for the continued and dedicated support his foundation receives from the region’s organisations, businesses, schools and individuals.
“Its’s fantastic the local firm Benfield has chosen to donate the Twingo to the foundation raffle” said Alan. “I really do appreciate every single effort made by people from across the North East to support the charity – from corporate companies to individual donors and sponsors”.
There are just 9000 of the raffle tickets for the car available, they cost £5.00 each and will be on sale between now and Christmas Eve.
