“The PFA is pleased to support One-Two Magazine to promote and support grassroots football. If football is to remain as the most popular spectator and participant sport in the world it is important that England, with its history in the game and its high economy status, does all it can to make sure that the base of the football pyramid is alive and well with good pitches, good changing facilities and above all good football coaches.”

TALKING TACTICS
Hello and welcome to the November issue and our eleventh publication.
The season should now be well underway with some early favourites topping their respective tables with 100% records. For the coaches, there will be players that already stand out and are in for a productive season. Players will be being watched carefully by scouts up and down the country. And, as the weather gets colder, there will be the inevitable attempt to get their socks as high up their legs as possible to stave off the chilling wind.
As for the magazine, it's been a very exciting couple of months since the last issue. Firstly, we were invited to the Alan Shearer Foundation to see the the great work that is being done there by Alan and his staff. We had time to sit with Alan and listen to him speak passionately about the foundation and the help and support they offer those with diabilities and their families was fantastic.
I was also invited to see the unveiling of the Arthur Wharton statue at the FA headquarters at St Georegs Park. There i got the chance to meet Shaun Campbell one of the founders of the foundation. This was a great day with legends of the game in attendance such as Cyril Regis, Viv Anderson and Chris Hughton. The unveiling was done by FA Chairman David Sheepshanks and more can be read on this story in this issue.
I would also like to send my condolences to the parents and family of Melissa Smith who died while doing something she loved. Melissa who was 15 and from Penwortham in Preston, collapsed while playing football for Cadley FC. You're in our thoughts at this sad time.
In this issue of the magazine we have the usual guest articles which again are excellent reads. There's plenty of match pics, stories and news from the junior grassroots game. If you have something you want included in the next issue, be sure to contact us.
Enjoy
