JUNIOR CLUB VICE CHARIMAN

Wayne Roberts- Globe Bullough Park Juniors

What is your Role within the club?

My name is Wayne Roberts and my role in the Globe Bullough Park FC is vice chairman and u10 manager and coach.

Which football team do you support?

Now this a funny one as I follow Leeds United (for my sins)

How do you raise money for the club?

Raising cash for the club is always hard, because sometimes you think you are always asking parents to give more and more but with how much it costs to run a club you need the backing of the families. There has been lots of things at the club we do from bag packing at local stores to holding special events like football tournaments special evening events for the parents like casino nights. Quiz nights and bike rides from Blackpool to Accrington. This year however we are holding a special event every month to raise money for the club. And also our local charity which we choose every year this year’s main events are, a waxing night for the dad's and coaches of the team, a casino night in March, a ladies night in March plus the yearly football tournament at the Globe .

If you could change one thing about grassroots football what would it be?

What would I want to change in grassroots football well if possible I would love to see local council buying into the grassroots and maybe giving all the clubs in the local league somewhere that we can all use. At the moment we all seem to be playing on pitches that yes are ok but could be a lot better .I would also like to change the funding side of things maybe if the e petition was passed by the government maybe then the Premier League would be forced to give a little back as there players they have on their books had to come from somewhere, no doubt it was grassroots. Maybe if we could get just one player from every team to give a week’s wages back into grassroots that would improve a lot of the problems we have that grassroots face week in week out.

The family yes they do have lots to do with me and the globe bullough FC. Both my boys play for the club one at u10s level and the other at u8s
