Who was the biggest influence in your life?

The biggest influence in my life was my dad as he was such a great person and his values on life is what has made me the person I am today.

What one thing would you change about your coaching?

The one thing I would like to change about my coaching is the facilities we are using. But due to cost and not wanting once again to ask the parents this may be difficult unless we get more backing to do this.

Do your family get involved with your work within the Globe football club?

My wife is a mad keen football fan and also she is part of the committee at the club it's a really good job she likes football. Let's say as we seem to be doing things for the club on a daily basis either emails phone calls or just managers popping round for a brew and a chat. The Globe is a very family run club most the managers and coaches have kids who play in one or more of the teams so we find it always good to have them on board as they want what is best for their kids like we want the best for our own.

How has the Globe Junior football club changed since your time there?

When I joined the club 5 years ago I was just a dad watching his son playing football or trying to play football at that age. From there I was asked to help out run one of the junior teams at u8s level and from there I became more and more involved. One year I asked if I could arrange a tournament for the Globe and for my first ever try at this, it was a brilliant day for the Globe as we had teams from all over coming to enjoy the day. Then from that day on I seemed to be asked to do more and more with the club. The chairman and founder of the club had a vision like myself to make the club a bigger and better place for the local kids to enjoy and learn a wonderful sport. When I joined the club we had a few teams but now this year was a big year for the club as we went from 7 junior teams and 2 adult teams to a massive jump to 12 junior teams and 2 adults. We also have a great group of people running the club which without all of them we would not have grown so fast.

What have you learnt from your time within the Globe footy club?

The mains things I have learnt it the cost to run a club is way more than I ever thought it would be. I have also learnt that running this club and making it bigger and better is really all I want to do. When you see the younger kids playing football and coming off with that big smile on the faces no matter what the score is, win, lose or draw that is what makes it all worthwhile. And when the end of the season arrives and they all come in their best clothes to get the trophies at the presentation evenings.

really well and they had the same passion as ourselves it was all about the kids not to make money and win lots of trophies. As the globe has now been running 22 yrs plus and the person I took over from was a very we'll know club rep he showed me a few things that would come in handy during my time at the globe so when we was all talking during the day and kicking each other on the pitches we started to talk about costing and how hard they was finding it to get the parents involved they told us about a event they was holding and we said well if u fancy the globe with bring four teams of dads and coaches over to play on the day .Well after the course had finished we added each other of Facebook and the event was talked about on there for a few weeks with plenty of banter about each other's teams .So the day arrived and we all set if from the globe ready for a real fun day and thinking this is going to hurt as most of the dad's we're let's say not in the peak of the physical career. We all turned up on the day to have a look at some of their players and coaches and was shocked to see most we're half our age and they had a ex premier player in one of the teams a secret weapon as u say. Well what a day it was never I have I laughed so much in one day. With dad's falling over and making fun of themselves all day all with open thing in mind .Normally after how I feel in the morning it will be worth it as this club is a twin of the globe all they want is for kids to play football. From that day on we have had other events we held a inter club tournament at bullough park when they brought the full club over for the day which was enjoyed by all the kids and also they will be joining us in some of our events to help raise cash for our club .

I think the relationship that lowerhouse and globe FC has become a very strong and I hope it will carry on in the way it started giving each other the support we need just to keep the kids playing what can only be described as a truly wonderful game GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL....
