“This current work reflects my continual fascination with dots and spots. I am trying to distill images I see
down to their basic ‘morse code’ of dots and dashes. I try to skate along the edge of where representation
becomes abstract. The two pieces in this exhibition came out of watching a Dalmation dog over the course
of several months. In the first of these pieces, the dots have escaped the boundaries of line and in this
piece, lines are still implied and just beyond view. Concentrating the work in black and white and shades
of grey, aids in the further effort to distill what I see down to the basic components.” —A. Browne
