LENDKAI 1
On the banks of the River Mur , at the corner of
Südtirolerplatz and Lendkai , Graz has a new
architectural landmark : Kunsthaus Graz .
Designers of this project , London architects
Peter Cook and Colin Fournier , created an
impressive synthesis that combines their
innovative design language with the historical
setting of this urban area along the Moore .
The aesthetic dialogue between the new
biomorphic structure on the banks of the
Moore and the old clock tower on the famous
Schlossberg ( Castle Hill ) of Graz is the face of
the city , whose goal is the creation of
productive tension between tradition and the
avant - garde . In the content , as well as from
the urban point of view , the new Kunsthaus
Graz acts as an interface between the past
and the future . On the occasion of activities ,
the fact that Graz was the European Capital of
Culture in 2003 , the city of Graz built
Kunsthaus , as a gift for the future .
Functionally and technically , Kunsthaus meets
the most modern requirements for museums
on an international credit line . Its 11 , 100 m2 of
useful space is provided by everything that its
leaders can take part in the global exhibition
business at the highest level . An innovative
and economical air conditioning system meets
all the requirements of the most important
owners of art .
