had trials bikes , but got bored with them once the play riding fun ended and there wasn ’ t anything local going on for actual trials riding . No matter their age , they see the return on investment for trials is so much higher than other disciplines , as something seems to click every time you ride .
The trials tragedy in Idaho is changing , and the sport is growing .
We first needed to bring trials out of the shadows and from being some secret sport . We also met some great riders in the southeastern part of the state who also saw potential for great events in Idaho . Eli Hansen and crew hosted a really fun event at Robinson Ranch in Oakley last year and are doing it again in 2021 !
The first step began two years ago at Owyhee Motorcycle Club ( OMC , http :// omcracing . com / trials /). This AMA-Chartered historic club has been in existence for over 80 years , and uniquely is located seven minutes from downtown Boise in the beautiful foothills . While the club ’ s storied history includes national TT Flat Track racing , hill climbs , Hare Scrambles and National MX racing , the main focus for the past decade or so has been motocross .
However , being a motorcycle club made up of enthusiasts , they were more than willing to give trials a piece of the club grounds that was a somewhat neglected , weed-infested dumping ground . Well trials riders can turn that into something ! After all , one person ’ s trash is a trials
